Summer Reading List

Summer Reading List

Summer Reading List…This is a thing I used to dread as a child.  I hated reading, especially mandatory reading during summer vacation knowing that there will be a test when summer is over.  Mia sister and I had a system where we’d each read a book and write down parts of each chapter and give it to the other so we didn’t have to read more than we wanted to.

Now I’m 24 and looking for books to read during the summer…Then it hit me.  Rather than going out to buy new books this summer, I decided to take a look at my bookshelf and reread those.  Here are some of my picks for Summer 2017!

Looking for Alaska By John Green

I actually made a Book Of The Month post for this! Check out what it’s about and my thoughts here!

The Great Gatsby By F. Scott Fitzgerald

I know most people (including me) had to read this in high school.  I don’t know about you, but doesn’t this book get better knowing you don’t have a test on it?

The Girl On The Train By Paula Hawkins

I also wrote a Book Of The Month post about this back in September. Check out that post here. I didn’t want to put this book down, and I certainly didn’t want it to end. However, I did sleep with the lights on if I was reading this book at night.

So there you have it–my summer reading list!

stay classy

  • I loved ‘The Great Gatsby’ in high school and saw the movie. Haven’t read it since, but I’ll definitely have to reread it this summer. Thanks for the suggestions!

    • I definitely put all of my required reading from high school to the side after I graduated. I thought this summer was a great time to get back into them!
