Why I Don’t Do Resolutions

Resolutions…That’s something everyone hears about in the New Year.  I personally have never seen the appeal.

I don’t do New Years resolutions because I feel like you shouldn’t wait until the new year to start trying something new.  If it’s getting healthy, going to the gym, or deciding to start something on social media the new year is just an excuse.  I feel like if you really want to do something there’s no reason why you can’t start now.  There’s no time like the present!

Waiting until the new year feels like you’re setting yourself up to fail.  Most people decide that they should go to the gym.  Because of this, the gym is way too crowded and people don’t want to go.   Then the gym with fade back to the normal gym goers within two weeks.

Deciding to set a goal like that in the future, to me is so dumb.  It’s kind of like when you’re ‘going to start the diet tomorrow’ and pig out the day before.  However, when the next day comes, you’ll already say ‘I’ll try again tomorrow’.  If you’re one of these people, starting TODAY is the best option.

I’ve only known a couple of friends to have new years resolutions and they’ve never actually kept to them.

However, if you enjoy making resolutions and you actually stick to them the entire year. GOOD JOB! Because I’ve never heard of someone actually staying with one the entire year. You make friend are a New Years Resolution original!

That is why I don’t make resolutions.

Until next time!
